Paper Plane recipe
The Paper Plane is a modern classic with four equal parts: bourbon, Aperol, Amaro Nonino, and lemon juice.
- Spirit: Bourbon
- Glass: Coupe
- Garnish: None, or a lemon twist
- Makes: 1 drink
Ingredients
- 0.75 oz Bourbon
- 0.75 oz Aperol
- 0.75 oz Amaro Nonino
- 0.75 oz Fresh lemon juice
Method
- Chill a coupe with ice water.
- Add all four ingredients to a shaker. Fill it with ice.
- Shake hard for 12 seconds.
- Empty the coupe. Strain the drink into it.
Tips
- Measure each part exactly. The drink works because the parts are equal.
- Squeeze the lemon fresh.
Best bourbon for the Paper Plane
Pick a bourbon at 90 to 100 proof with some spice. Amaro Nonino is the other key bottle, and it is worth keeping on the shelf.
